Get to know the role:

Join one of the most dynamic Marketing teams in the country, as we build Jaya Grocer to be Malaysia’s most loved everyday-everything grocer!!


You will be responsible for leading marketing initiatives and managing strategic projects end-to-end for Jaya Grocer. This role requires you to apply creativity, consumer insights, and analytical skills to develop new ways to drive demand across all channels, while collaborating closely with the marketing team to amplify campaign effectiveness.


The day-to-day activities:

Demand Generation to drive Customer Acquisition and Retention Strategies

  • Design, plan, manage, and optimize integrated digital and non-digital campaigns across multiple channels to drive pipeline growth

  • Monitor and report campaign performance with detailed tracking of relevant KPIs, including but not limited to sales conversations, revenue, impressions, clicks, web visitors, video views, collateral downloads, leads, etc

  • Create impactful nurture programs to improve conversion rates from leads to opportunities

  • Collaborate with Strategy and Operations teams to develop and implement a multi-channel customer acquisition plan

  • Maintain a strong understanding of the target demographic and kept abreast with macro-environment factors that could impact customer behavior or economic sentiment

  • Strategize and develop retention initiatives in collaboration with marketing, operations, and merchandising teams, identifying opportunities for seasonal engagement campaigns and content

  • Monitor and improve the customer experience lifecycle, ensuring continuous optimization of retention strategies

  • Create a demand generation roadmap for different customer segments and channels.

Marketing Campaign Building and Communications

  • Develop integrated marketing campaigns and communication plans tailored to market segments to attract new customers and build loyalty

  • Supervise execution, monitoring, and measurement of marketing campaigns, ensuring alignment with organizational guidelines

  • Compile regular performance reports, data and feedback and analyze results to improve future campaigns strategies

  • Oversee vendor selection and manage contracts as needed

Strategic Projects Management

  • Lead the conceptualization, planning, and execution of strategic projects/operation initiatives that align with Jaya Grocer’s long-term goals

  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities for differentiation and innovation

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive project outcomes, ensuring alignment with brand positioning and business objectives

  • Manage timelines, budgets, and resources for strategic projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within scope

  • Evaluate the success of strategic projects through post-implementation reviews, identifying key learnings and areas for improvement

  • Support cross-departmental efforts to enhance operational efficiencies and customer experiences through innovative project solutions.


General scope of work includes:

Developing quarterly plans, competitive analysis, writing creative briefs, media strategy and selection, campaign budget allocation, flighting strategies, ad formats + optimizations, overall project management and post-campaign analysis


The must haves:

Experienced marketing professional: You already have at least 5 years experience in a communications and results-driven marketing role, preferably with a digital marketing experience


Proactive and data-driven: Entrepreneurial self-starter who can create their own structure and drive forward a clear growth agenda. Adopt an analytical approach to understanding customer behavioural segmentation and spotting opportunities. Well versed in media strategy and channel optimization.


Solutionist mindset: Natural strategic thinker and problem-solver who gains category/commercial understanding with ease and has the ability to turn key business drivers into exciting customer value propositions.


Great collaborator: Someone who works well with a wide group of stakeholders and open to idea experimentation. Innovative and contributive - loves to be part of the creative process, brainstorming and challenging the norm. Able to navigate complexities, influence and persuade approval to get things moving.
