Get to know the role:

• Develop and implement internal policies and streamlined processes for Occupational Health & Safety (OSH).
• Proactively assess and manage OSH risks across all Jaya Grocer (JG) operations, HQ, Distribution Centres & Darkstores.
• Establish and maintain effective safety and security metrics, fostering heightened safety awareness and ensuring compliance with facilities.
• Keep senior management informed about OSH scenarios that could potentially affect the company and to provide recommendations forward.
• Collaborate with service partners to promote workplace well-being and mental health initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Formulate, refine, and evolve internal policies and efficient processes for OSH.
• Identify, prevent, mitigate, and effectively respond to potential and actual safety and security risks impacting staff, company assets, or operations.
• Align with JG's business objectives and provide practical, business-friendly health abd safety advice, offering innovative solutions.
• Continuously monitor OSH objectives, proactively pursuing early interventions and robust preventive measures.
• Design and implement comprehensive OSH training and testing programs.
• Develop persuasive business cases to justify investments in risk mitigation.
• Gather and manage information and process data to identify meaningful risk trends for effective identification and mitigation.
• Collaborate with Grab's country and regional partners to identify critical areas for improvement for Jaya Grocer.
• Proactively manage vendor/business partner relationships, conduct performance reviews, and ensure quality service provision.
• Offer expert guidance and consultation on OSH aspects for JG premises.
• Timely escalation and efficient management of OSH incidents.
• Foster and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Foster collaborative initiative with the Security team to promote a safe working environment.

You should have:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant accreditation.
• MOM Registered Workplace Safety & Health Officer (SHO) or in process of obtaining certification.
• Possess at least 3 years or more of professional experience within the Occupational Health & Safety (OSH).
• Experience in the Retail & F&N environment is an advantage.
• Strong spoken and written communication skills.
• Up-to-date with industry and governmental regulations, and bring strong relationships with local government or private sector counterparts.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to present and execute on actionable findings.
• Ability to develop complex policies and procedures with minimal supervision.
• Possess strong problem solving, decision making, analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Displays strong judgment, a well-grounded moral compass, and a humble disposition that respects and resonates with the unique culture at Jaya Grocer.
• Executive presence to influence leaders and drive positive outcomes.
• Ability to work cross-functionally, independently or virtually in a minimally structured and fast-paced environment.
• Self-motivated and driven to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and to meet highly dynamic deadlines.
• Proficiency in Google applications, including Google Sheets, Slides, and Docs, is highly advantageous.
