Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Non-Trade Manager in strategizing management of the team to ensure high performance and productivity.
  • Assist the Non-Trade Manager in making choices about supplier sourcing, procurement, and vendor negotiations by assessing the needs and to meet the company’s adjective.
  • Nurtures relationships with suppliers & manufacturers in order to acquire the most cost-effective deals and to reduce procurement expenses.
  • Approving all purchase orders fall within budget guidelines, are cost-efficient and of high-quality and services from vendors.
  • Develops and implements strategies for procuring, storing, and distributing goods or services and maintaining stock levels.
  • Monitors business trends and product availability to pay the best price for company goods and services without sacrificing quality or delivery times.
  • Signing and reviewing purchasing agreements with vendors, monitoring their performance and renegotiating contracts
  • Effectively engage with other departments, such as Operation, Marketing & Fresh Market to ensure in controlling costs, maximize value, understand the needs, expectations &; efficiency improvements.
  • To develop action plans and recommendations to ensure optimum stocks levels for all outlets & to minimize outlets & warehouse disposal.
  • Responsible for ensuring all reports are recorded with accuracy for analysis & reporting purposes.

You should have:

  • At least 3 - 4 year(s) of working experience in purchasing; comprehensive knowledge in strategic procurement specially in the retail industry.
  • Has overall procurement experience/knowledge (eg, sourcing, negotiating, purchasing, designing & enhancing procurement related SOP etc).
  • Exceptional communication & talent in negotiation skills with the ability to foster strong supplier relationships.
  • Commercially focused and a keen eye for detail with strong analytical & numerical skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of purchasing functions, inventory and supply management systems.
  • Possess strong interpersonal, leadership, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant tools.
  • High efficiency, energetic, independent, strong initiative to drive the team towards improvements
  • Abundance of contracts with vendors of various product categories will be advantageous
