Get to know your role:

Join one of the most dynamic Marketing teams in the country, as we build Jaya Grocer to be Malaysia’s most loved everyday-everything grocer!!

You will be responsible for leading marketing and projects managing all initiatives end to end at Jaya Grocer. You will be applying creativity, consumer insights and analytical skills to find new ways to generate demand for Jaya Grocer across all their channels and co-working with the Marketing teams to cross-amplify the effectiveness of the campaigns.

The day-to-day activities:

Demand generation:

  • Designing, planning, managing, and optimizing integrated digital/non-digital campaigns across multiple channels to generate pipeline

  • Monitoring and reporting campaign performance with granular tracking across relevant KPIs, including but not limited to impressions, clicks, web visitors, video views, collateral downloads, leads, initial sales conversations, and revenue

  • Creating impactful nurture programs to improve conversion rates from leads to opportunities

  • Overseeing vendor selection and contracts as needed Campaign building and comms

  • Create integrated marketing campaigns and communications content and plan based on market segments to gain new customers and build repeat business

  • Supervise the execution, monitoring and measurement of marketing campaigns and their success

  • Ensure campaign implementation follows organizational guidelines

  • Recruit and train talent for the successful implementation of marketing campaigns

  • Compile regular reports of campaign performance and results

  • Improve new campaigns using data and feedback from existing and previous projects

Customer acquisition strategies:

  • Work with Strategy and Operations teams to strategize a multi-channel acquisition plan

  • You must have a strong understanding of the target demographic and be keep abreast with macro-environment effects that can impact the economic situation or sentiments among the segment


Customer retention strategies:

  • Work closely with country teams to generate awareness of retention programs for the partners community, as well as run seasonal engagement campaigns and content

  • Strategize and continuously develop new retention strategies in collaboration with the marketing, operations and merchandising teams to identify new opportunities (seasonal etc) to retain customers in addition to monitor / improve the effectiveness of each step in the customer experience lifecycle. Develop demand gen roadmap for the different segments and channels

Brand building and strategic partnerships:

  • Leverage the Jaya Grocer brand value proposition to engage strategic partnerships in conjunction with the seasonal customer scene in the market

  • Create brand strategies such as positioning, scheduling, and deciding on the selling platform. They are also in charge of creating new branded items and selling initiatives, marketing the company image and positioning throughout the industry, building strong customer relationships, developing and executing customer pricing and promotions, as well as analyzing trends in the sales performance and adjusting plans accordingly in order to meet the sales target

  • Provide forecasts for branded products; create, contribute, and present sales presentations; and collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to ensure product requirements are achieved. Development of a branded marketing plan; analyze the market and the competition to support the team in setting a new product pricing; collaborate with a cross-functional team to reduce finished goods inventory and errors and omissions

General scope of work includes:

Developing quarterly plans, competitive analysis, writing creative briefs, media strategy and selection, campaign budget allocation, flighting strategies, ad formats + optimizations, overall project management and post-campaign analysis


The must haves:

-Experienced marketing professional: You already have at least 5 years experience in a communications and results-driven marketing role, preferably with a digital marketing experience

-Proactive and data-driven: Entrepreneurial self-starter who can create their own structure and drive forward a clear growth agenda. Adopt an analytical approach to understanding customer behavioural segmentation and spotting opportunities. Well versed in media strategy and channel optimization.

-Solutionist mindset: Natural strategic thinker and problem-solver who gains category/commercial understanding with ease and has the ability to turn key business drivers into exciting customer value propositions.

-Great collaborator: Someone who works well with a wide group of stakeholders and open to idea experimentation. Innovative and contributive - loves to be part of the creative process, brainstorming and challenging the norm. Able to navigate complexities, influence and persuade approval to get things moving.

-Highly organized, detailed and meticulous: Enjoys improving processes to achieve day-to-day efficiency. Thrives in an ultrafast-paced tech/digitally-inclined environment. Quite the perfectionist.
