Get to know the Role:
As the Assistant Finance Manager, you will serve as the strategic right-hand to the Financial Controller, focusing on financial governance, technical accounting, and operational transformation. While the daily execution of Procure-to-Pay (PTP), Order-to-Cash (OTC), and Record-to-Report (RTR) is managed by dedicated functional Leads reporting to the Controller, you will hold the cross-functional authority to review, challenge, and optimize these end-to-end processes.
Candidates with a background in a Shared Services Centre (SSC) will find themselves at a distinct advantage due to their familiarity with standardized, best-in-class processes. However, this role requires more than theoretical design—you must be a hands-on practitioner who is comfortable actively implementing changes, managing stakeholder resistance, and executing projects from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Process Optimization & Cross-Functional Governance
Process Authority: Map, review, and evaluate the existing end-to-end workflows across PTP, OTC, and RTR. Identify bottlenecks, control gaps, and manual redundancies.
Continuous Improvement: Authoritatively suggest, design, and implement process enhancements and automation initiatives. Collaborate closely with the functional Leads to embed these changes into daily operations.
SOP Ownership: Standardize and maintain the Master Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across all finance functions to ensure alignment with best practices and Jaya Grocer’s growth scale.

2. Technical Accounting & Financial Controls
Serve as the internal subject matter expert on technical accounting standards (e.g., MFRS/IFRS), ensuring all retail transactions, inventory valuations, and lease accounting (MFRS 16) comply with regulatory frameworks.
Review the outputs of the RTR, PTP, and OTC functions from a technical governance perspective to guarantee the integrity of financial data.
Coordinate the annual external audit and tax compliance processes, ensuring all functional leads provide the required documentation accurately and timely.

3. Change Implementation & Project Management
Lead and project-manage finance-related transformation initiatives (e.g., ERP enhancements, e-invoicing/IRBM compliance integration, point-of-sale system upgrades).
Hands-on Change Execution: Act as the primary change manager within the department. Beyond just proposing ideas, you will be responsible for rolling out the changes, managing friction, and ensuring the functional teams successfully adopt new ways of working.
Partner with IT, Logistics, and Commercial teams to drive cross-departmental projects that impact Finance.

Job Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance. Professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, MIA, or equivalent) is highly advantageous.
Experience: * Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience.
Experience in a Shared Services Centre (SSC) background is a strong advantage, particularly in process stabilization, migration, or continuous improvement frameworks (Lean / Six Sigma).
Proven track record of actively leading and implementing process changes, rather than just participating in them.
Experience in FMCG, Retail, or Supermarket chains is a major plus.
Technical Skills: * Deep, end-to-end understanding of RTR, PTP, and OTC cycles.
Strong foundational knowledge of technical accounting standards (MFRS/IFRS).
High proficiency in robust ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and workflow automation tools.

Soft Skills & Competencies:
Influencing Without Authority: Proven ability to critique processes, suggest structural changes, and drive adoption among peer-level functional Leads.
High resilience and adaptability; comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving change in a fast-paced retail environment.
Excellent communication and diplomatic skills to navigate a matrixed reporting environment smoothly.
What We Offer
A highly visible role with the authority to shape the future-state finance architecture of a top-tier retail brand.
Direct mentorship under the Financial Controller with a clear pathway to senior finance leadership.
Competitive remuneration and corporate benefits.
