Get to know the role:
We’re looking for a passionate and driven Marketing Intern to join our dynamic marketing team at Jaya Grocer. This internship offers hands-on exposure across multiple portfolios — Loyalty, Partnerships, Public Relations, Gift Card Operations, and Events, providing valuable experience in real-world marketing execution.
You will play a key role in supporting project management, Go-to-Market (GTM) planning, creative development, and event coordination that drive customer engagement and brand growth.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Marketing Project Management
Support end-to-end execution of marketing campaigns, from planning to post-campaign analysis.
Assist in managing project timelines, task coordination, and cross-department communication to ensure smooth execution.
Prepare campaign decks, internal briefs, and progress reports for management updates.
2. Go-to-Market (GTM) Planning & Execution
Contribute to the development and rollout of Go-to-Market plans for campaigns, product launches, or partnerships.
Conduct market and competitor research to support strategic positioning.
Collaborate with internal teams (Operations, Merchandising, Digital) to ensure campaign readiness and execution.
3. Creative Brief & Visual Development
Draft and refine creative briefs for the Creative Team to develop visuals and campaign materials.
Review creative outputs to ensure alignment with brand guidelines and marketing objectives.
Support production and coordination of in-store and digital marketing materials (banners, posters, social media assets, etc.).
4. Gift Card Operations
Support daily operations of the Jaya Grocer Gift Card program including inventory tracking, issuance, and redemption monitoring.
Coordinate with Finance, IT, and Store Teams to ensure data accuracy and operational efficiency.
Assist in planning and executing campaigns to increase Gift Card visibility and sales.
5. Public Relations (PR) & Communications
Assist in drafting and translating press releases.
Support on-site coordination during events, including registration and media management.
Prepare media kits, press materials, and coverage reports.
Maintain and update media contact lists and databases.
Liaise with PR agencies and media partners to support brand publicity and coverage opportunities.
6. Event Coordination
Support the marketing team in planning and executing corporate, partnership, and store-level events.
Coordinate with event organisers, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth on-ground operations.
Assist with event logistics, registration, setup, and post-event reporting.
7. Data Analysis & Insights
Support in analysing marketing and sales data to understand customer behaviour and campaign impact.
Assist in post-campaign performance analysis to identify key learnings and improvement opportunities.
Compile dashboards or reports to visualise campaign effectiveness and shopper insights.
You should have:
Currently pursuing a Diploma or Degree in Marketing, Mass Communication, Business Administration, or a related field.
Strong interest in retail, FMCG, or lifestyle marketing.
Excellent communication and writing skills (English; Malay & Mandarin is a plus).
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to multitask effectively.
Proficient in Google Docs, Sheet & Slides; experience with Canva or Adobe tools is an advantage.
A proactive and resourceful team player with a positive learning attitude.
